hungry
How exciting is it, that in Heaven I will be whole, completely satisfied?
There will be no pain and no suffering. No longing and no emptiness. No hunger. No thirst.
For he quenches our thirst with the wine of his blood. Every time.
For he dissolves our hunger with the bread of his body. Every time.
So on Earth, let him be our only desire.
And He will give us the desires of our hearts.
Lord, I desire you. The bread of your body. The wine of your blood.
That is my only desire. Because it is the only thing that fills the cracks in my heart, the holes in my soul.
When I hunger, only your word can satisfy.
When I thirst, only your spirit can replenish.
And although my body may look tired, my heart and soul are alive.
They flourish because the sustainer of all things is sustaining them.
You are my one thing, the only thing I am hungry for.
I want more. More of you.
